School Business Services offer a wide range of training and consultancy sessions to allow you to maximise the use of your system.

The data within your MIS system is critical to the success of your school and using the system to it's full capabilities can help you acheive your goals.

From Safeguarding recording and reporting to full use of Behaviour Management, which will enable you to provide welfare support for the pupils who need it most.

School Business Services can work with your school, on any aspect of your MIS system, with a training programme which is tailored to suit your needs.

How to use SIMS for the recording and reporting on all areas of Behaviour Management

Many schools in all phases now are appointing or allocating non-teaching staff to take on the role of Pastoral or Welfare Officer, therefore freeing up teaching time. These members of staff are able to provide welfare support for their pupils/students and are able to keep a close eye on the “little pickles” within the school.

A training and consultancy session will explore many aspects of Behaviour Management and by the end of the session you will be able to:

  •   Gain a wider knowledge of the data held within the MIS
  •   Understand how to access the data held within the MIS to enable and inform decision making and discussions with parents
  •   Access the Pupil/Student Teacher View
  •   Make good use of the Home Page
  •   Create User Defined Groups
  •   Use and modify Reports for Pastoral/Welfare needs

This training session will take one day and will take place at your school on a date convenient to you.

How to use SIMS for Safeguarding recording and reporting

All jobs within schools include some responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The job description should make clear how much responsibility is involved.

A training and consultancy session will provide familiarisation with the way SIMS can be used to manage issues around safeguarding specifically using SIMS for the management of:

  • CRB and List 99 checks and renewals
  • Single Central Record
  • Bullying incidents
  • Racist incidents
  • Vulnerable children and User Defined Groups

This session is aimed at school staff who are involved in the recording and reporting of student and staff information relevant to safeguarding.

This training session will take a half day and will take place at your school on a date convenient to you.
