About this SIMS course

SBS has created a remotely delivered training course to provide skills to prepare SIMS for results day and how to report on this.
- Updating the QN files
- Cloning the 2019 Performance measures file
- Amending Performance measures for subjects, levels and boards (ks4 and ks5)
- Checking basedata for QN and QCA codes
- Ensuring examinations have been applied to courses
- Setting up Embargo(es)
- Checking EDI Directories
- Requesting BTEC Base Data
- Importing Files
- Import Errors and dealing with them
- KS2 Calculators
- Creating and amending PI Cohort
- Adding Non-EDI Results
- Editing the PI Cohort
Looking at the reports available in:
- SIMS.net – PI Based Reports
- Exams Organiser – Broadsheet, Student Statement of results etc
Possible methods to distribute results:
- PDF Printing
- Exporting to the Document Server
- Collection in person
Target audience
Staff with responsibility for handling external examination results.
Staff with responsibility for producing analyses of examinations data who are familiar with SIMS Examinations Organiser software.
Outcomes
By the end of the course you will have learnt how to:
- import results files
- calculate PI information
- run standard reports and analyses and exporting results to Excel
- create and using results marksheets and editing results
- use SIMS to perform group, aspect, result set and chance analyses of examination results data
- create tracking marksheets with traffic lights to identify and target students
- produce graphs and charts of various analyses
- use SIMS Course Manager to allow heads of department to see departmental marksheets
