Budget Forecast Return 2024
The deadline for this year’s Budget Forecast Return (BFR) is 29th August.
The ESFA have now published the workbooks in advance of the online form going live on 4th June on a new authentication system called DfE Sign In (DSI).
Changes to last year’s return include:
- New lines to collect information on ICT revenue and capital expenditure, detailed in a separate guidance document: BFR ICT guidance
- A new line in the revenue expenditure section for expenditure on building repairs and maintenance/improvements.
- New lines on the 3 year forecast for the assumed teaching staff and support staff pay awards.
The ESFA have provided more detailed guidance on how schools leaving or joining the Trust during the reporting period should be accounted for, within the main guidance document.
They have also provided what we think will prove a very useful quick reference guide which explains what should be included on each line of the BFR.
