Janette Hall – Capita

“I joined Capita as a School Improvement consultant, over eight years ago, after a career in education where I worked for several years as a Vice Principal on the leadership team of a large secondary school. In school I encouraged a range of staff to use SIMS to support teaching and learning and reported regularly to the governors, local authority and SIP on the school standards agenda.

Working in the School Improvement team, I worked extensively with schools, at all levels, and local authorities and trusts around the country to help them use SIMS effectively to support school improvement drawing on my background as a school leader. This has included supporting schools and trusts at all tiers and types, to develop tools in SIMS to support their own data collection and analysis, to guide their self-evaluation processes. My current role has extended to include working directly with SIMS Support Units as well as schools to continue to encourage schools to use SIMS effectively to support good outcomes for all pupils.”

SAM – School Absence Management

SAM is innovative staff attendance software developed specifically for schools and MATs by an ex-school business manager. It automatically links with school data systems, pulling through information so the school can easily see who’s hit triggers, when tasks are due and quickly provide reports for their leadership team. SAM makes it easy to identify trends, monitor progress and take action, supporting staff back to work quicker and helping to reduce absence costs, including supply cover. The Employee Portal within SAM also makes absence requests easy to track and approve confidentially, all saving administration time and putting the focus back on what matters, happy staff and happy children!
